It is critical that Athletic Trainers are able to identify BOC Approved Providers
when looking at advertisements or program materials. A BOC Approved Provider is
featured in each issue of Cert Update.
This issue’s featured BOC Approved Provider is Postural Restoration Institute. As
you can see in the materials below, the company adheres to the policies found in
the BOC Approved Provider Handbook. The BOC asked Jennifer Platt, DPT,
ATC, PRC, to comment on the benefits of being a BOC Approved Provider. Platt is
Director of Education & Credentialing at Postural Restoration Institute.
How did you prepare to meet the 2016 Standards for BOC Approved
After reviewing the Standards for BOC Approved Providers, the biggest preparation
for us involved reviewing and updating our policies and procedures handbook, along
with our marketing materials, course hosting agreement forms and faculty/speaker
agreement forms to be sure that items on the self-study checklist were addressed.
Why did you become a BOC Approved Provider?
Our Institute has always felt the need to educate healthcare
professionals across multiple disciplines. Becoming a BOC
Approved Provider enhanced our ability to reach athletic training
professionals and share information through our courses on how
postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the polyarticular
chains of muscles not only play a role in rehabilitation programs, but
also in injury prevention with athletes.
