The Functional Movement Screen is the screening tool
used to identify movement limitations and asymmetries
within individuals with no pain or injury. The screen
requires individuals to be placed in extreme positions
where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable
if proper mobility and/or motor control is not utilized.
Based on screen results, the FMS algorithm will then
recommend corrective exercise to improve movement
patterns with dysfunction or limitation.
The Selective Functional Movement Assessment is
a movement based diagnostic system designed to
clinically assess 7 fundamental movement patterns
in those with known musculoskeletal pain. The
assessment finds the cause of the symptoms, not just
the source, by logically breaking down dysfunctional
patterns. This systematic approach allows clinicians
