BOC Newly Elected Board of Directors
The BOC is pleased to announce Jim Malseed, MEd, ATC, RAA
as its newest Athletic Trainer (AT) Director and Amy DeRosa as
its Public Director. Each individual’s term will begin immediately
following the July 2011 board meeting. Malseed will replace
outgoing AT Director Peter Koehneke, MS, ATC, while DeRosa
will replace outgoing Public Director Jerry Diehl.
Malseed, an AT since 1983, resides in Claymont, Delaware with
his wife of 30 years, Nancy, and has three adult children, Marie,
Beth and R.J. He is the AT/Department Chair and a Teacher of
Health and Physical Education at Archmere Academy in
Claymont.
Malseed has been recognized for his leadership and involvement
as an AT. He was awarded the BOC Dan Libera Service Award in
2009, won the Cramer Products Award from the Eastern Athletic
Trainers’ Association (EATA) in 2002, was inducted in the
Delaware AT Hall of Fame in 2004 and earned the EATA
Scholastic Trainer Award in 1992.
Malseed served as the founding member and first president of
the Delaware Athletic Trainers’ Association from 1982-1984 and
then again as president from 1996-2000. He served on the EATA
as secretary and treasurer from 1992-1996.
